SAXON PANTRY

FOF BOARD MEMBERS KIM LOUTHIAN AND KRIS LENHART PRESENT AN FOF DONATION AND TOUR THE SAXON PANTRY.  FOOD DONATIONS FROM THE FERRIS COMMUNITY IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS.

The Saxon Pantry was started by Ferris staff in the fall of 2016 to respond to a need in the school community and currently serves more than 30 students a day however sometimes it may be double that. In addition to providing food for the students to take home after school, students can also get personal hygiene products. The Saxon Pantry is partnered with 2nd Harvest Food Bank to receive food weekly, or as needed, but the Pantry also has a need for cash donations to help with items that the Food Bank does not provide and to deal with timing issues. The Ham on Regal parent group and now Friends of Ferris have been a great support for the Pantry but the need is an on-going one. Donations can go straight to the Pantry by making that selection during the transaction process on the website.
